Illustrator Dave Aikins grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, immersed in comic
books, action figures and B-movies. In 1991, Dave was somehow persuaded to
move to Ohio, studying at the Columbus College of Art & Design. After
graduating in 1995, he spent 4 years working for a large newspaper (remember
those?) and a commercial art studio before realizing his dream of staying
home in his basement all day. Now residing outside of Columbus Ohio with his
wife, energetic son, and multiple cats and dogs, he is currently celebrating
over 10 years running Let’s Draw Studio, the free-lance illustration company
he founded in 1998. He continues to produce work for clients in the areas of
advertising, product design and publishing, and tries really hard not to
draw Dora the Explorer as a zombie. Maybe one day Nickelodeon will combine
them. We can only dream…
